Isolstift is a smart solution combining the interesting characteristics of a masonry hook and an insulating fastener into a single product.
The Isolstift dowel is strong enough to hold the insulation in place, even without the presence of a masonry hook. This means that the hooks can be placed afterwards, when the outer wall is fitted and the risk of injury is limited.
Isolstift is also available combined with stainless steel hooks or hooks for glued bricks.
The type of dowel is determined by the insulator thickness. Isolstift dowels are available for insulation thicknesses included between 60 and 240 mm. For anchoring in mesh block, we recommend using a dowel 2 cm longer.

Also available combined with stainless steel hooks. Eurocode recommends using stainless steel masonry hooks (MX3 exposure class).

Quantity: as specified by the stability engineer (Calculation imposed by Eurocode 6 - NBN EN 1996-1-1 with a minimum 5p/m² as per the Belgian National Annex)
Dowel
Material: plastic
Colour: black
Diameter: 10 mm
Diameter of the insulation fastening disc: 60 mm
Available for insulation thicknesses between 60 and 240 mm
Masonry hook
Standard version combined with galvanised steel hook with twisted/wavy end, Ø 4 mm
Other hooks Ø 4 mm or Ø 5 mm with twisted end are also available
Drill through the insulator in the load-bearing wall.
Drilling diameter:
- 10 mm in reinforced concrete and sand-lime blocks.
- 9.5 mm in other supports (special MMISOM drill bit)
Fasten the insulator using the insulation fastening dowel (1). Indeed, the bonding grooves on the dowel fasten the insulation before the impact hooks are applied.
When fitting façade bricks, insert the impact hooks (2) in the insulator fastening dowels by their twisted end. This avoids damaging protruding hooks.
Before inserting the hooks in the dowels, slide a drop breaking washer (3) onto the hook by its twisted end. This washer will act as a drop breaker, preventing water from flowing towards the load-bearing wall.
The hook is punched into the dowel with a hammer, using an appropriate punch driver.
