CBTC à Louvain-la-Neuve

The China-Belgium Technology Center (CBTC), located in the UCLouvain science park in Louvain-la-Neuve, is the result of a collaboration between Hubei province of China, AWEX, UCLouvain and inBW.

CBTC à Louvain-la-Neuve

Goal

The goal of the CBTC is to create a gateway for Chinese companies to Belgium and vice versa. The services offered and the privileged connection to UCLouvain's Louvain Innovation Network allow Chinese companies to explore the European market while developing their technologies. Innovative Belgian companies with a link or a concrete approach with China can also come here to facilitate their prospecting and trade.

The CBTC is located on an area of approximately 8 ha in the Science Park and comprises: an all-in business center, including a coworking space, offices, laboratories, a hotel (170 rooms), a conference center. Construction started in 2017. By the end of the three phases, the CBTC could accommodate approximately 200 companies and 1,500 jobs, both European and Chinese.

This large-scale project also takes into account the integration of Chinese expats in the city of Louvain-la-Neuve. In addition to the CBTC short-term housing hotel, 300 units are expected to be built in the future.
