GDV - Guide De Voile 04.20.03

Add to my wish list

The shell guide (Guide de Voile - GDV) is a system that is set up in the formwork of a peripheral or interior wall, and is aligned with the equivalent wall on the next floor up.

The GDV significantly limits the tracing operations on the next floor up.

The GDV consists of a lower part made of plastic, a metal tube serving as a guardrail reservation, and a reinforced positioner.

The purpose of this device is to materialise and reflect the axis of a wall from one floor (N) to the next (N + 1), by means of a metal tube which also serves as temporary security on the edge of the floor.

Benefits
  • The GDV serves as a spacer at the top of the shell
  • The GDV replaces the screeds, and facilitates the laying of pre-cast slabs
  • Removable magnets allow GDVs to be held in place
  • The tube is perfectly positioned along the wall
  • The tube serves as a guardrail reservation for a post with Φ25mm. Testing pursuant to Standard NF EN 1337-4
  • The axis of the wall, materialised by the 30/30 tube, is raised to the next floor up
  • Once the slab is poured, the positioners can be fitted onto the tubes in order to facilitate installation on the next floor up
LEVIAT technical advice

Tracing shell axes without reference marks at the start of rotation is a tedious job. The GDV system reduces this operation to a strict minimum, and enables the axes of the lower walls to be raised onto the upper slab.
As well as facilitating the positioning of the upper shells, it can serve as a formwork spacer and a level marker when concreting the lower shells.
